June 2005 I received a brand new Paramount ME (!) I quickly took the
12" Optical Tube Assembly (OTA) from the LX200 GPS forks and installed it
on the new mount. I also added the TeleVue 85 refractor to the rig.
To counterbalance the two telescopes, the ST7E camera and the 20D DSLR more than
60 lbs are needed on the counterweight bar!
The basis of the observatory was an 8" Meade LX200GPS. This one was
replaced by a 12" model on June 2004.
I quickly added an Orion ST80 for wide field viewing. I made the rings out
of 4" PVC hardware and nylon screws.
I also had to add a counterweight to balance the rig.
I replaced the ST80 with a TV85, note the added weights.
LX200GPS, finder scope, and TV85.
ST7E, CFW8a and AO7 attached to the LX200GPS.
