As the name implies The Octadome is based on an octagonal shape.

It was designed and constructed by my very good friend Terry Warner.

frame_1.jpg (25156 bytes) First the pier was poured and after it cured an octagonal steel frame was made.  Decking wood was screwed onto the frame to make the floor.

frame_2.jpg (33867 bytes) The rotational guide for the dome was made out of 1" sprinkler tubing that was also screwed to the decking.  

frame_3.jpg (27929 bytes) The frame of the movable Octadome was made from 1 inch square weldable steel.
