As the name implies The Octadome is based on an octagonal shape.
It was designed and constructed by my very good friend Terry Warner.

First the pier was poured and after it cured an octagonal steel frame was
made. Decking wood was screwed onto the frame to make the floor.
The rotational guide for the dome was made out of 1" sprinkler tubing that
was also screwed to the decking.
The frame of the movable Octadome was made from 1 inch square weldable steel.
Detail of the hatch assembly as seen from the rear.
The roof is treated aircraft material. The skin is corrugated steel.
